Hudson Horror Show Double Feature – BLACK SHAMPOO and a 70’s Action Classic!

Friday September 8th, Hudson Horror Show returns to Silver Cinemas South Hills 8 in Poughkeepsie, NY!  We’ll have a 35mm double feature of two rarely screened prints along with some trailers and some great merchandise for sale.

First up is a MYSTERY MOVIE!  It’s a 70’s action classic and it’s an extremely well known film that is rarely screened off of 35mm.  I can’t say much about this movie, but it’s score on Rotten Tomatoes is currently at 95%, so I can say this one will certainly be a crowd pleaser!

The second movie is also from the 70’s and is the Blaxploitation classic BLACK SHAMPOO!  Directed by Greydon Clark (WITHOUT WARNING) and with Cinematography by Dean Cundey (HALLOWEEN), BLACK SHAMPOO is one of the best Blaxploitation movies ever made!

The double feature starts at approximately 10 PM on Friday, September 8th.  Tickets are just $14.00 for the double feature.  Tickets are exclusively available at www.hudsonhorror.com.

In addition to screening the movies, we will have a boatload of collectibles from the collection of Doc Terror, aka James Harris.  James Harris was a staple in the horror community who tragically passed away from cancer earlier this year, leaving behind a wife and young children.  His wife just sent us a box of all new DVD’s, Blu Rays, books, collector’s pins and more.   This is all stuff we did not have for sale at the last show. These items are all from Jimmy’s personal collection and will be for sale at this show.  ALL proceeds from the sale of this merchandise will go directly to his family.  If you can’t make the show, come on down and do some shopping for a great cause!

BLACK SHAMPOO (1976) Directed by Greydon Clark

John Daniels plays Jonathan Knight, the owner of “Mr. Jonathan’s”, the most successful hair salon for women on the Sunset Strip. His reputation as a lover has become so awesome that he is sought after almost as much in that capacity as he is for his experience as a hair stylist.

Everything is cool for Jonathan until he messes with the mob in an effort to protect his young attractive receptionist, played by Tanya Boyd (Celeste in Days of Our Lives), from her former boss.

Action explodes when the “loving” machine becomes the “killing” machine. Jonathan, chainsaw in hand, gets down to the get down on the vicious mob gang that wrecked his shop and kidnapped his woman!
